How To Do

Now use the x-acto knife and cut the flames out. Cut along the lines and be careful not to slip off the lines. A little tip here is to start at the tips and work to the curve of the flames.
Afer you have the lines all cut out, use the scotch tape and put it over the flame mask. The scotch tape is to help keep the flame tips in place while you move them. Pull the part of the flame your not going to use up. Use the x-acto blade to get it started. Pull it up gentle, some of the mask of the flames might not be cut all the way loose. If their not loose, cut through the scotch tape to get it loose. Repeat this for all the flames masks (top and sides). Save the pieces too, you can use them for other flames later.
Now you have your mask for your flame job. Take the earser of the pencil and remove the pencil markings that are left on the mask. Do it gentlely so you don't tear or move any thing.
Take some more scotch tape and put it over the flame mask for the top of the car (can't see the tape in the picture).
Move the mask to the top of the car and center it on the top so it's where you want it. After you have it where you want it rub it down with your fingers.
Now take the scotch tape off. Pull it off from the end where the flame tips are (toward the curves). Be very careful here while doing this, you don't want to tear the mask or move the curved parts of the flames around too much.
Ok here's where the Q-tips come into play. Take a Q-tip and put some masking tape over the end of it (the tape is to keep the fuzz from getting on the sticky egdes of the mask). Now use it to rub the flame down real good onto the car. Start at the tips and rub down toward the curves.
Ok now for the sides. It's the same as putting the mask on the top. Just line the end of the side flame up with the mask from the top. The mask for the side needs to over lap the mask for the top just a little. Use a toothpick (flat toothpicks work best) and the Q-tip to rub the mask down into the line for the doors and side trim of the car. Repeat for the other side too.
Ok now you have the mask on the car and your ready to get started painting it.
